Thursday, December 8 is National Brownie Day! Delight all the brownie-lovers you know with this decadent Double Chocolate Brownie recipe courtesy of Taste of Home.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, combine 3/4 cup baking cocoa and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. Stir in 1/3 cup melted butter. Add 1/2 cup boiling water and stir until well blended. Stir in 2 cups sugar, 2 large eggs (room temperature), 1/3 cup melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
In a small bowl, mix 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir flour mixture into cocoa mixture. Stir in 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts and 2 cups chocolate chunks.
Pour brownie batter into a greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake until brownies begin to pull away from sides of the pan, about 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack before enjoying.
